How do I text on an LG Gpad 7.0 using the phone number assigned to it by AT&T?

this has been asked but not answered... I have this exact issue... trying to figure out how to text from my LG 7 tablet.
It does have a phone number attached to it from AT&T, it is a separate number than what is on my cell phone and I used my tablet for my hot spot for my laptop... but use "data" from my phone account.
I just wondering if there is a way to "text message" on my tablet?

Welcome to Android Central! I don't believe this is possible, because tablets aren't capable of telephony (which is how SMS is sent as well). I think the phone number is arbitrary. For example, I have a Chromebook that is LTE capable, but uses it only for data. But in my T-Mobile account, it's actually listed as a phone number (although the Chromebook can't make any calls).
