My galaxy wouldn't turn on, so I did a soft reboot not knowing it would erase my data. I was able to retrieve data backed up by Verizon cloud, but not the rest. Then I realized I can restart the phone using power+volume up/down. The phone won't turn on unless it's plugged. Is there any way I can get my data?

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean by a soft reboot? Rebooting means simply powering the phone off, then back on again. A factory data reset would wipe your data -- is that what you did?

Are you saying that now, the phone will only power on when it's charging? What does the battery level show?

If the data that was lost was only saved locally to the phone, and not backed up or synced somewhere to either the cloud or your computer, then it's lost. Sorry!
