Options for clearing up storage space without uninstalling apps?

I have a LG Escape 2 running Android 5.1.1 that has low memory despite not having that many apps installed. I have a SD Card but this has barely helped the problem as I'm still having to micromanage my storage space in order to download apps I need, which in turn means I have to uninstall something else I need). I'm new to Android so if this seems like a stupid question it probably is. I just want to know ways I can clear up some space to where I'm not always having to uninstall in order to install.

Not really much you can do, modern smartphones need lots of memory. All media into sd card and wipe cache partition will give you a little breathing space, but sadly, not much...
