Normally, if the caller ID system is displaying something generic like "metropcs" or "T mobile", it is because the caller turned off their caller ID so that the receiver does not get any info about who is calling. Thus, the caller's phone company fills in the blank text with something not blank but equally useless.

If the caller is in your contact list, your phone will display the name that you have in your contact list, whatever text you put there. Feel free to edit that text.

If you are looking to hide the contact from people you don't want browsing your phone, you can download apps that will do that. However, the easier approach is to use a PIN to lock your security screen and not share than PIN with other people.
