Android file transfer issues

[AC Question]

I just downloaded macOS Sierra and I attempting to perform a file transfer. My usb is connected however whenever i open android file transfer to begin i get an message that says my phone is locked and i need to unlock it and plug it back in to continue. I have done this and amounted to nothing. Please help!

Welcome to the forums. Do you have a notification about charging on your phone? If so, tap it, and change the charging to file transfers. See if that helps.
