Group messaging problem, post update Galaxy S7

[AC Question]

Ever since the new update I've had a problem with group messages.

I was in a chat with two iPhone users but can no longer respond to that chat because the creator of the chat has the other member under a different name in their contact list. It seems as if my phone is not recognizing the name and thus doesn't have the number for the name since that person is saved under a different name in my contact list.

I created a new group chat with these two people using my contact list but when they reply it goes to the original group chat.

Whenever I send a message to that original group chat, my message fails to send to the person whose name is not in my contact list.

I have already tried saving that persons name under that name and still nothing is resolved

First thing to check is to make sure both iPhone users have your contact info marked as "not iPhone".

Things seem odd here since texting is based on the phone numbers, not the contact names.
