"Removed apps and users" indicating data usage when I did not remove anything

AC Question

I loaded 250mb 2 days ago. It's gone today and when I checked my consumption, it was indicating that the "removed apps and users" app was using a lot of data. I did not remove any apps this entire month, nor did I remove users (I don't even know what that means).

My data for the month for Facebook is less than 200mb and that is my highest usage. I read on one of these forums that it could be a hacker. How do I protect my phone from being hacked and having the data stolen?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? If you're certain you haven't uninstalled any apps lately, it might have to do with apps that updated. If the update was major, the system might consider it a new app.

Some devices allow multiple users or profiles, so if you remove a user, then you might see this message.
