When recieving texts from Moto G play(4th gen.) , message is broken into sections.

I have a Moto X (1st gen.), bought family member a moto g play. When I receive texts from this family member the text is broken into sections. For example: 1/4 the rain in Spain 2/4 is mainly on t 3/4 he plain 4/4 have a good day. etc. Will receive them this way in four separate sends. ???? This also happens when texting others. Help!!!

Normally that should happen only when the original text is very long as an SMS message can only contain 150(?) bytes of data.

For your friend sending the odd texts:
Which phone?
Which version of android?
Which carrier?
Which language is the default on the phone?
Which texting app?
