Problem staying connected to T-Mobile LTE

I Have a Verizon LG G5 (VS987). I recently activated it on Ting (a T-mobile MVNO). When I take it out of airplane mode it will connect to LTE and the internet works, but it only stays on LTE for about 15-30 seconds. It then drops all connection for a few seconds and then reconnects to EDGE. When I change it to LTE/CDMA mode, it stays connected to LTE but then I can't make or receive phone calls because that's LTE only. It seems like some setting is making it prefer EDGE over anything else. Any solutions or tips?
PS: Whenever I try dialer codes, it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code."
