Modified gps.conf and hardware keys have stopped working.

After modifying the gps.conf my hardware key have stopped working. When i revert to the old gps.conf it works again. Is there any way of keeping the modified gps.conf and hardware keys working. Also i modified the gps.conf to fix my gps, because before it wouldn't fix to satelites but since modified it works. Any solutions?
