    There is technically no "trash" or recycle bin on Android as there is in Windows. However, similar concepts hold true that when a file is deleted it is only marking that space available for use and not actually removing the data in that storage location. Similar to Windows though, the more data you write to the storage medium the more likely you are to overwrite the "ghost" data.

    To recover data from that free space, I believe you will need to have a rooted device and some specific software, though I'm not familiar with that process. Are you trying to restore emails that may be in the deleted folder in your mailbox or were these files that were stored locally on the phone?
