Why won't my S7 Edge restart

A

AC Question

My S7 Edge has developed a fault that causes it to crash every few days, resulting in it needing to restarted.

When it crashes, I can normally just hit the power and vol down button to bring the device back to life after a few tries.

However now it is being totally unresponsive. The screen is black and no LED is showing. But the device is clearly active, as I can feel heat from it. The last few times it has done this I have had to wait a day or so for the phone to run out of power so that it turns its self off and I can charge it and use it again.

When it is running, it behaves perfectly. But I can't deal with not having a phone 2 days a week.

Also I am not eligible for a warranty repair as I cracked the back, and replaced it myself after a month of owning it. I don't believe it is connected to this fault as the timelines don't match up.

Is there anyway of resetting the device without using the buttons, other than pulling it apart and taking the battery in and out?
