Why does my phone keep locking itself?

I have a alcatel one touch tracfone and everytime I click on an app or a game or anything really, my phone locks itself, and sometimes when it locks it erases my wallpaper and I have to reapply it. I don't want to have to factory reset my phone, is there anything I could do?

Welcome to Android Central! Does this persist after a reboot? If so, one of your apps might be causing instability -- try uninstalling apps one by one until the problem goes away.

You could also try wiping the cache partition, but we'd need to know the exact phone model first.
