Restored to factory setting but wont go past 'processing'

[AC Question]

i was going to pass my verizon htc phone down to my grandson....i clicked on 'restore factory settings' screen went to processing......the problem is its been 'prossesing' for over 24 hours now....i have powered off and on several times, took out the battery and left it out for over an hour....STILL just says 'processing'
