Recent Apps button and the settings option from swipe down menu isnt working

[AC Question]

This just started overnight that i cannot use the recent apps button to the left of the home screen. I cant also use the setting tab when you swipe down. No notifications coming through either.

Any ideas? I have wiped cache, reset settings, reset network settings. Rebooted 3-4 times.
Is a replacement phone needed or will i do a factory reset?

Also, see if there's an option in your settings to change between users. If so, switch to 'guest', check the notifications shade, switch back to 'owner' and check again. Tell us how it goes for further assistance.

im having the same issue. cant check recent apps. cant click on the setting icon after swiping down. cant download apps. not receiving notifications. using a s6 phone. and there is not option to switch users. please help! :'(

Yea apparantly i need to download nova launcher for me to try the solution in that thread. However, i cant even download any app. It straight goes to "download pending"
