LG G Vista randomly shuts off

A

AC Question

Once I updated my LG G Vista's phone software to VS88028A, there has been a major software malfunction. If I leave my phone's screen off, in idle, for an extended period of time, the phone shuts itself off. The power button also becomes unresponsive. The only way I have been able to boot my device is by simulating a charging session - plugging the USB into the charging port. After I connect the phone to a charger, the phone appears as though it died, with a mere 1% charge. I can, however, turn the phone back on while it's plugged in.

While the phone is running, it works as it should. The problem occurs several times throughout the day, though, unfortunately. What would be the best approach to fix this?

- LG G Vista is unrooted
- My carrier is Verizon
- Anti-SOD apps are ineffective

The battery holds it's charge as it should. Taking out the battery and putting it back in is a fruitless method.

P.S. I am the original poster of this question. I was having difficulties blowing away the dust from this account.
