My files won't let me see my stuff that I downloaded or let me see my photos.

It started when I tried taking a picture and when I wanted to see in my gallery, it said "unavailable photo" and so I went to look why and I accidentally downloaded something on my files and when I went to look at it, it said "file can't open." Can you please help me? I can't see my videos, photos, or the files I download.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? I assume it's a Samsung phone, if you're using My Files.

What kind of file did you accidentally download? Use the file manager app to navigate to the Download directory (should be /storage/sdcard0/Download) and see if there's a file called ".nomedia" there. If so, delete it.
