Can you tell if a chromebook has had a factory reset?

Hi, I bought an Acer Chromebook 14 nearly two weeks. I found a better spec, reconditioned one at a lot cheaper price, and bought that also. I've gone through the store's term and conditions, where I bought the original one and can return the original one for a full refund as long as the CB, has not been turned on etc. and nothing has been downloaded blah blah..... Unfortunately, it has and I have downloaded. All the other conditions have been satisfied

My question is this, if I do a factory reset, is there any way the store can tell this has been done?
