I went through again to see what you see. I got the same message, but went to checkout anyway and it still shows a 12-22 delivery date.

Rats. Sorry. However, that is initial response they gave me too (that it was out of stock and didn't know when it would be in), until I gave them my order number and they said it would be delivered on time. Those of us that are desperate for a delivery before christmas may want to take the chance and see how it turns out. I have 3 or 4 orders outstanding from various places right now just hoping one of them hits. Haha!

Just got an update on my order from Office Depot yesterday. It has supposedly shipped with delivery on Friday.

Just placed my order, order page and confirmation email stated estimated delivery date of 12/23/11. I just shot an email to their customer service to get confirmation on color, and if the 23rd is a realistic date. The item is currently showing on back order - we'll see!

Did they answer your color question? I'm thinking of trying this route as well.

customer service confirmed amethyst Grey, but could not confirm the 23rd. it seems that everyone ordering from office depot is getting Grey as a color response. hope this helps!

I just ordered it at office depot and it said estimated delivery was 12/23/2011. Now I just need to await my shipping confirmation to see if I really will get my Christmas gift after all!

I haven't gotten an email yet. I am just going by what I see online under my order status. It says it is 'in the warehouse' and it has a link to view the packing slip.

Sheesh - I'll throw my experience into the mix here (I'm starting to lose track of which forums I've posted in!).

I just placed an order about a half hour ago for fun (since my Amazon 64GB order isn't supposed to ship until January 5th) - just to see what would happen.

My order status hasn't changed online yet - but I went ahead and initiated a chat with a very friendly Pheona. She seems to be under the impression that my order should be delivered on 12/23 between 8-5. I'm not going to hold my breath (as the item is showing that it is backordered) - but maybe I'm near one of those drop-shop warehouses people are talking about (I live in Chicago) - so I'll keep hope alive.

When I ordered it - I did order it as a "future delivery" - in case that makes any difference...

I looked at my order page mine still says "waiting backordered items"

If I knew my 64gb were coming the first week of Jan I might not have ordered it but my amazon page still says they need more time to determine a ship date...

Update. I just recieved my shipment and tracking numbers. Went to UPS and verified it. This dumb thing might be on a truck from GA. I'll have to wait until Friday. I'm just really hoping it is not the old version.

I hear that - I'm just too darn impulsive! I figure if anything, Office Depot has this 14 day return policy - if it looks like the 64 might actually ship on that date, I suppose I can always return the 32 - at the very least, I'm sure I'll be able to get at least most of my money back by selling it on eBay or something...

I'm curious, for when you finally get your tablet from OD, how is wifi performance? Obviously, you can't answer this now, unless someone has gotten theirs from office depot, but when someone finally does, could you review the performance of wifi? I am interested if there are any problems.

Well, I finally got my amazon confirmation of shipping, like everyone else it's end of Jan to Feb. So I am glad that I tried this option, If I can get really lucky I'll hopefully hear by tomorrow that they shipped it...fingers crossed...

Spike: I've been reading from those that have it on xda forums and it seems like it is in general a little weaker than the first generation but they seemed to of been talking about a small enough amount that would only be noticeable in a direct test. Alot of people I've seen on there so far (barring one) seem to really like it. For me I'm never more than 20-25 feet from my router and that shouldn't be a problem in any case. Heck I tested my Droid X using speed test and I only got 3-4mbps where I get 16 on my laptop. What's up with that? It's speed are acceptable, albeit not the greatest but if it's at least double that it should work fine for me anyway.
