    Default Firmware question

Currently my ATP build number is 8.8.3.27-20111122. When i do a check system firmware update it says that its up to date. However on the Asus website It shows 8.8.3.29. Should i do this update and if so how do I do it? Thanks for the help

    Found this link:
Make sure you download the TF201 firmware and not the TF101 from the link.

In the other thread you say "updates camera and drops it down to 6mp as well", are you saying it actually downgrades the camera? Did you stay on the firmware? Why would anyone want to install it?

Got the new firmware (.33) and noticed immediately a slight increase in "snappiness" in the touchscreen response and moving between apps. I will give it some more time, since it just restarted after the update, but so far looks good.

I'm super interested in how the update affects the touch screen responsiveness and touch screen lag. If anyone else can chime in on that as you get your update, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

All updated, found it odd that there was 3 separate updates... Firmware, camera, and then pad ec version.

Seems it would be less hassle to have 1 update.

I posted earlier in the thread that I noticed a difference in the response immediately. Its generally better after a restart anyways, so I'm giving it some up time before I declare a true difference.

Damn, I'm jealous. Boy I feel dumb for returning mine. I could have a perfect Asus Prime sitting on my lap right now. What a travesty :-( wish I had been more patient.

    Can't want to reorder.

So so far we think/feel it: Possibly does something to the camera, supposedly increases screen responsiveness, and locks the bootloader? I guess I'll go ahead and install it if it comes up for me next time I turn my Prime on.

I just done the firmware update, restarted ok. then it shows there is another camera update and the ecc pad update, downloading the ecc pad update, now the touch screen is not responding. I could only press the power or volume button, nothing else. what can I do?
    thanks.

I did the update...google+ constantly force closes now, without me ever even touching the app. Though when I do try to launch it, it launches and immediately does force close. Had absolutely no problem before the firmware update, and I've changed absolutely nothing in-between, all variables are the same, except for the new firmware update. Disappointed. :-(

I'm restarting it now, after giving up when updating it in the market didn't fix it. I'm hoping for the best. No other apps are doing it...really strange. Also strange it's only happened to me, but...what can ya do.

edit: Finally got it working correctly again after clearing its data/cache in the settings. Relogged into Google+ and everything is back to normal. Weird how the firmware update messed something up inside that specific application, but, glad it was an easy fix.

Besides that one small issue, switching between screens and transitions are much quicker and fluid, and Asus released a popup after the update that says if we are using the large icon set, we might need to revert to the smaller icons again. I did, as I was using the larger icons. These look soooo tiny!

Thanks for the edit. Will try that this evening, as I have the same issue after the .33 update.

No problem at all! Hope you get it working again, too. Let me know if you have any questions.
