yea, I'm tempted to get splashtop thd or onlive after seeing the reviews of both...

Well, splashtop is for remote desktop, so you need your own PC for it to work.

Onlive is in the cloud, you access computers from Onlive. This is more attractive to me, since I don't have a PC. It does cost $5 a month though.

how do people like the splashtop gamepad THD so far? it's on sale for $4.99 in the market right now so really tempted to pick this up.

True, but it's an older version that doesn't get updated. I've been told that it actually has a bug in it that causes a lot of disconnects, but it also doesn't support the gaming features like the Tegra-specific version does, so I paid for it.
