360 controller???

I cant seem to get my 360 controller to work. I hate to start a new thread because I'm sure its been discussed. I searched and cant find anything. can anyone point me in the right direction?

At first I was trying to use a rechargeable wireless controller with the charging cable attached. That didnt work. I bought a wired controller today. Still no luck.

Is is an actual MS controller or a 3rd party? Are you rooted or stock? Have you applied the latest update x.21?

I believe that third party ones have been proven to not work. The wireless XBOX controllers need the MS USB receiver to work. I use a spare wireless PS3 remote due to not having a wired xbox 360 controller.

I was on Game Stop website and they have a Bluetooth Controller that is suppose to work with the Prime. I believe it is about $40. I don't know the brand. Once I get my Prime in the next week, I was thinking of picking one up.

I just picked up an original wired 360 controller. Works perfectly. I use a Bluetooth/USB mouse with my Prime. So a Bluetooth controller should work fine.

As long as it is connecting via the USB port.

So what are the options here?

PROVEN TO WORK

OEM Xbox 360 Wired Controller
OEM Wireless Xbox 360 with MS USB Wireless Adapter
OEM PS3 Wireless Controller via Bluetooth

NOT PROVEN TO WORK

Third Party Wired Xbox 360 Controllers
Third Party Wireless Xbox 360 Controllers
Third Party Bluetooth Controllers

Anyone have a link to the MS Wireless USB adapter? Is it expensive?

Yes, OEM 360 controller worked for me, but the OEM wireless controller with the charging cable didn't. And all the 3rd party controllers I tried didn't work.

I use the sixaxis controller app and a ps3 ctl with np, you do need to be rooted for this though.

I have 4 Microsoft wireless Xbox controllers. I would hate to have to buy yet another one that is wired.

Does Microsoft sell a wireless usb receiver that I can plug into the Prime so it will recognize the wireless Xbox controller? I looked on Amazon and didn't find anything. Or is the wireless feature only available to PS3 controllers because those use Bluetooth?

And once I plug the controller into the Dock USB do I have to configure anything in the Settings or will it automatically be detected by games?

Yes, it will work with a blue tooth usb adapter
