Garbled audio from video recordings

My Transformer makes great videos, but the audio sounds like it is being played back under water, both from the Transformer and from copies played back on other devices. Of course I can always send it in for repair again, (wasn't aware of the problem the first time) but it is a nuisance, time consuming, and it is rooted with Revolver. Was a problem before and after rooting.

I would like to hear from anyone else who has had this problem. Is there a fix short of returning it?
