Just picked this up

So, I decided to join the ranks of Android users with a real tablet and bought this model. Honestly, it was a toss-up between this and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I went with the TF300, and I'm blown away! It doesn't hurt matters that it jumped from ICS to JB 4.1 and is upgrading to JB 4.2 as we speak.

And, of course I know where to turn if I run into any issues.

You're gonna love this bad boy. If you just picked it up and it's updating to 4.2, do yourself a favor and do a factory reset right after the update, to clear out any cobwebs that might have been left behind from 4.1.

Buy the keyboard dock and be even more impressed. Longer battery life, full-size SD card support, USB support, and a keyboard with a touch pad.

If only marrying tablets wasn't frowned upon. :P

I plan on getting the dock, but it's out of my budget for right now. It won't be for long, but it's on hold for now. Maybe in a month or so. Right now, I have a more pressing issue - which is to get a case. I may end up ordering one from Amazon and calling it a day.

Sounds like a plan. With or without the dock though, this tablet is my precious.

You may be able to find deals on the dock, since Asus has been phasing out the Transformers. I got my dock at Best Buy a month ago for $75, and some colors were going for as low as $50.

Do yourself a favor and take a look at the Caseen covers. I initially bought one of the cheapo covers from Amazon for about $20 and quickly regretted it. It made the tablet way too bulky with the dock attached. I couldn't be happier with the Caseen Perfecto cover I bought to replace the cheap one.

I just had to get something last night, so I picked up an el cheapo one to hold me over, but the caseen cases look pretty nice. I think I'll be going that direction when I get the money. As far as the docks go, I'm seeing them still in the $140 range in-store, and only slightly cheaper online. I'm in no rush for the dock, though; I'll get it in due time.

Have you looked at Best Buy? That's where a lot of people got theirs for so cheap. Red, Blue, White, or Gold docks: $75. Black dock: $50.

Best Buy is one of the places I went to. Maybe I'll ask a friend who works there to be on the lookout for one for me. Can't hurt, right?
