It passed the FCC, so we should see an announcement of release date soon. Asus has a product page for it too, meaning they still want everyone to be excited about it.
Edit: tomorrow is the day Asus is announcing release dates for probably more than the infinity

There's a new phone that will run Crysis on Ultra at 120 fps on a 2160p display that's coming out 3 months after you buy your next phone. - 05-31-2012, 06:52 PM #3

Re: Release date??
So, we know the unofficial dates from Asus are around the week of July 16 (http://www.androidcentral.com/asus-t...y-starting-499),
Though, could this be due to Jelly Bean being released mid July? :-D
perhaps they want to release the tablet with JB, instead of releasing it and having users update a week or so later etc?
http://www.androidcentral.com/androi...oming-mid-july
that would be awesome to already have JB on that beautiful display! :-D
(pssss Asus, I'll take it without JB too!)עם ישראל חי - 06-27-2012, 08:58 PM #10

I don't think that Asus would leave their flagship in the dark with software updates. I'm sure even the prime will get jelly bean eventually, maybe even the OG transformer.
But the fact that they worked with Google means that they are familiar with the new OS and will be able to make their products better with less time getting familiar with the new code

Say you or I get a defective unit, what would be different between returning it to office Depot as opposed to best buy or staples etc?
Was it a bad experience you had with them or is there policy unfavorable.
I don't want it to sound as if I work for office Depot defending it, I'm really only asking as I really want to get this tablet, though don't want to get screwed in the event I do have to return/exchange it. All I do at staples, office Depot, officemax etc is buy office/project supplies.

Re: Release date??
If I could have, I would've gotten it from Newegg. The times I've dealt with them before have been great. But I want to pick it up at a retail store...so Best Buy is pretty much my only option right now. I haven't heard anything about them, other than that they took down the Prime from their website.

Re: Release date??
My local Best Buy's is telling me that they will have them shipped in the next two weeks.... That being said, does anyone know of any other retail (walkin) stores that are selling them tomorrow ...?

in AL, I called a best buy, staples, and office Depot, and none have in store, nor do they know when they will have, and office Depot told me it's online only.

The grey version is the only one available at any store. I think anyway, because the online stores that do have them (Office Depot, Amazon, Tiger direct, ect.) only show the grey "in stock". Amazon is showing 2-3 weeks availability on the grey and 1-2 months on the gold. Once again, inconsistency from Asus. But I've got my Prime to hold me down until Adarama has the Gold in stock (pre-ordered).

Re: Release date??
The Best Buy nearest my vacation spot didn't have any idea that they were coming out tomorrow. I'm going to call back tomorrow, but if I get the same lady again I'm going to go berserk and drive down to the store and ask. She was looking on the website...I could've done that myself (and I did before calling).
At this point if I don't find it by the end of the week, I'm ordering it from Tiger Direct or Amazon. There's a new phone that will run Crysis on Ultra at 120 fps on a 2160p display that's coming out 3 months after you buy your next phone. - 07-15-2012, 05:37 PM #25
Ordered mine from Adorama. Free shipping and Keyboard was less too.
