Mine is expected to arrive tomorrow. How do make sure ups leaves it instead of leaving that stupid note on my door?

You can ask a neighbor to sign and post a small note by the door letting them know. You can also ask them to put it around back. UPS is generally smart as to where they put it. My driver is usually the same guy and will just open my side gate and leave it on the patio.

Re: Official "I got my Infinity" Thread
Mine just arrived an hour or so ago. I am "upgrading" from the Transformer Prime...
Whites are definitely whiter; blacks are slightly blacker; contrast noticeably higher; text is noticeably crisper but have not found any content ( netflix, etc. ) that does justice to its resolution... Display is also just slightly dimmer at highest settings. Performance appears to be every so slightly faster...
The Infinity works fine with Transformer Prime keyboard dock..
Besides the whites and contrast, if you are coming from the Transformer Prime, I wouldn't expect to have your socks knocked completely off... - 07-18-2012, 03:18 PM #32
Re: Official "I got my Infinity" Thread
I ordered mine on Amazon on the 16th, but the site said it wouldn't ship for three to four weeks. I believe most of you saw this as well. I was hesitant at first but I placed the order anyway for fear that it would sell out and I'd have a TF201 situation all over again. Anyway, I checked the order later that day and its status said "Shipping Soon" and now it's expected to arrive tomorrow! Wish I paid the overnight shipping and I'd have it in my hands now

Re: Official "I got my Infinity" Thread
On mine now.... and all I have to say is WOW...!! Very Happy with it so far... Hey not to get all funky out of the gate, but is there a forum for Rooting them and hacking them to install Jelly Bean...? I asked becuase I just upgraded my Galaxy Nexus last week to Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and it is Rippin Fast...
Not that this tablet isn't already fast, I'd rather Root it and do what I need to do now, that way I dont have to waste my effort and lost data later... Just asking...? - 07-18-2012, 05:49 PM

There's a new phone that will run Crysis on Ultra at 120 fps on a 2160p display that's coming out 3 months after you buy your next phone. - 07-18-2012, 06:01 PM #36

Re: Official "I got my Infinity" Thread
I'm curious about the skin Asus uses on the TF700T? Did they do a good job, should I root it right away and get rid of their crapware?
I'm tired of TouchWiz on my Galaxy S 2 and just want pure google. I was on the fence about getting a Nexus 7 vs the Infinity, mainly because I wanted Jelly Bean and timely updates. I hear that Asus does a decent job with updates and their skins are not bad, but I've never used one of their devices before. In the end I went with the Infinity for the larger storage, micro SD slot, keyboard dock and high rez screen. I'm hoping I made the right choice. - 07-18-2012, 09:22 PM #38

Re: Official "I got my Infinity" Thread
Pics or it didn't happen lololol
Asus' skin from my understanding is mostly stock. They added a few settings here, some apps here, a widget there...not really much of a skin more than a few modifications. You can uninstall or disable whatever you want under stock too, that's not difficult. There's a new phone that will run Crysis on Ultra at 120 fps on a 2160p display that's coming out 3 months after you buy your next phone.Thanked by: - 07-18-2012, 11:44 PM #40

Re: Official "I got my Infinity" Thread
Bev... Yes, much like you, I prefer to root and take control as soon as possible. Although the Asus interface is nice and ICS is ICS, which I have had experience with on my Galaxy Nexus, I still prefer Control and Jelly Bean over stock.
As far as the crapware (as you called it..lol), I'm still fumbling through some of them, but some are new and functional and to be honest, them seem very minimal.
Hope that answer your questions....Thanked by: - 07-19-2012, 06:53 AM #42

Re: Official "I got my Infinity" Thread
That's great news! I searched some other posts and found similar comments. I've never used an Asus product before, except video cards, so to hear that they allow you to remove their crapware/bloatware is just amazing! However, if some of their pre-installed apps are actually useful, then all the better.
I just hate cell phone companies adding their useless software, in the name of consumer convenience, that you can't remove without rooting the device. My original Galaxy S had some special version of the Sims on it. Never played it...ok, I loaded it once. You know, just to see, anyway it took up to 80 megs of space and I couldn't remove it. No, I don't want TeleNav or T-Mobile TV or any of your suggested apps. You are not helping me, you're just annoying me...
Man, where did that come from? Rant over, the end.
My Infinity is out for delivery! Should be arriving at my work any moment now! Productivity is about to take a huge blow. - 07-19-2012, 04:19 PM #45
Re: Official "I got my Infinity" Thread
UPS delivered my Infinity at work during my lunch break. Best lunch break ever! All I can say is WOW! Wowwy, wow, wow, wow! This thing is amazing. The screen is gorgeous! Got it all set up and there was a firmware update right away, my heart skipped a beat hoping for Jelly Bean, but it was just an update from Asus. Running 4.0.3. Battery is almost dead at this point, arrived with about 15% power, gonna run it dry and then charge it overnight when I get home.

Been playing with my new toy for a few hours. Love it! The screen is everything I hoped and more. Most of your reaction to this tablet will depend on what you've been using before. Going from a TF101 to this is a huge step up. Speed is blazing, screen is sharp, and the size and shape is perfect.
I also picked up the Prime keyboard dock from Best Buy and am pretty impressed with the whole set up. Typing isn't as cramped as I thought it would be and there is no lag between typing and when text shows up on the screen which is something I experienced with the TF101 keyboard dock.
All in all I will enjoy figuring this bad boy out over the next few weeks and can't wait to take it outside to test the IPS+ display in sunlight.
