[DEV] TF700 Root, ROM, hack thread
Since there is no development section, I am creating my own.
I'm gonna post links to various ROMs, kernels, and any helpful guides for this awesome tablet..and give my insights on my current setup.
Most development, and the links, are from XDA. Click on 'em to learn more!
My current ROM:
[ROM][11/8] - CleanROM 2.4 -★| Smooth, Stable and CLEAN! | 10.4.4.20 Base! |★- - xda-developers
Credits to scrosler for this awesome ROM
Been running this version for a couple days, and have been running this ROM since I unlocked my device (5 days after I bought it lol) It is much, much better than the stock software. IMO, my device is finally running the way it is suppose to be running.
Anyone who would like to keep their device (for all intensive purposes) stock, this is the ROM to use!
Also going to post a link to the CyanogenMod releases, as they have released a stable build for the TF700 (ya'll know how awesome they are, right?)
Another favorite of many, as they offer mucho customization for tablets. Mainly, with per app dpi changes (very nice for tablets)
[ROM] TF700T PARANOIDANDROID 2.53 04-NOV [HybridMode, Per App Size & UI/Color] - xda-developers
My current custom kernel:
Clemsyn's kernel for TF700t at 1.8ghz and 650GPU. CM10 ver released - xda-developers
Also been running this since I've unlocked. GPU and CPU overclocking are implemented. Also, scaling is implemented using the stock governor mode; e.g. Power Saving, Balanced, Performance clock at 900, 1500, and 1800mhz respectively (so setCPU is not needed) Noticeable performance increase using this kernel.
If you have been on the fence about unlocking your device...here are some helpful guides (credit zeus34, scrosler respectively)
[Device is unlocked][Video Added] Bootloader Unlock Tool Released [25.7.2012] - xda-developers
JB update to root/custom ROM:
[Guide / Tool][10/15/12] - Update to Official Jellybean Then Root or Custom ROM! - xda-developers

Re: [ROM]CleanRom 2.4 10.4.4.20 base
Believe me if it were an htc thunderbolt, I would root it as I did. (Not to discredit htc, I love the product, but vzw taking forever to release ics, as both they and htc promised they would release it).
So, enjoying awesome ics rom 4.0.4, with Google Now, and pinch to zoom latest Gmail :-D
(all thanks to Santod).
Being with stock Asus, so far I'm not complaining. But who knows, maybe down the road I will.
Good to know there's development for our tablets too.
