I am running 1.3 manual nooter. I also have experience with CM7 that I am trying to replicate some of the functionality. In CM7 you can set applications to never cover the status bar. When I start Angry Birds in stock 1.3 rooted it covers the status bar, and the home key does not exit the application. Softkeys does work but it is really only the reason I have them installed.

Also, one more question. Is there any way to get the hold home key to display running application like you have with CM7?

I am having too much trouble with my corporate wireless to be able to run CM7. I am able to connect without issues on 1.3 rooted.
