Upcoming S/W Update

I was in a B&N store today and the Nook salesclerk had a demo Nook Color loaded with the new update that is due out in December (see link below). It had a red smiley face sticker on the top of the bezel and he had it in his pocket.

It's pretty impressive. I didn't have a chance to play with it myself nor write down any notes but I saw animated page turns making page transitions much smoother and some development tools. It included Netflix. The clerk didn't think that they had locked down the bootloader and it wasn't possible to test. I've seen speculation over at XDA that it's Netflix HD that is forcing the locked bootloader on the NT.). It'll be interesting to follow the reaction from Nook Color owners to this new update. I have a Nook STR and am planning to get a 7" tablet of some kind after Christmas. Right now I'm leaning towards the NT but I'm going to be watching the NC with the update.

Interesting. Mines still on like 1.1 (1.2? I can't even remember now) because I haven't booted into stock in months. I've been running CM7 from the SD card for so long it just hasnt been necessary.
