Nook Tablet vs Nook Color

I know that the Nook tablet is a more powerful version of the Nook color, but I've also read that there are ways to add apps from the Android market to Tablet without fully replacing the OS with another mod. Can the same thing be done with the Color? I rooted my Color awhile back and ran MUI but the new updates on the Nook OS look pretty good and some of the Nook books don't display that great on MUI using the Nook reader app. Thanx for any and all advice!
