Getting Adobe Flash to Work On The Nook Color
Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me with something I've been working on for hours. I'm trying to get Adobe Flash working in a browser.
When I try the stock nook browser, it gives me the option to download Flash for "another device," but when it's done downloading it gives no option to install and doesn't work.
I aslo installed Honeycomb on my SD card and booted from that thinking Android 3.0 has Flash standard, but it did not. I wasn't even given the option to try and download it with Honeycomb.
I have also tried finding Android 2.2 to boot from a SD card thinking it may have Flash built in, but I wasn't able to find a setup as easy as Honeycomb. All the methods I did find required much more advanced (coding?) in the terminal which I'm not comfortable with.
I tried installing the Android Market thinking that would have Flash as an option to download, but again the process was very complex for myself.
So, my question is what would be the easiest way to get Flash on my nook?
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. - 02-14-2011, 07:35 PM #2
The stock nook has android 2.1. Flash does not work on it. Annndroid 2.2 is compatible with flash but no 'official' version is available yet for the nook. An unofficial build of 2.2 is available 'nookie froyo' flash was supposedly somewhat choppy on the earlier versions but is supposed to work better on current versions. Stickied guides are available with instructions for loaading off an SD card or copying to the nook itself (harder and riskier). Android 3.0 (honeycomb) has not been released yet for any device. The honeycomb availablde for the nook has been pieced together from a preview of the sdk (software development kit). It is not the same as a fully functional operating system, although I hear it works fairly well. You still cannot buy a product that comes loaaded with honeycomb. In short, flash is still 'coming soon'.
