Nook won't staff off? Nookie SD

I turn off the nook, use the power off button, an option comes up to shut down, I select the power off button, looks like the nook is turned off.

I come back a few hours later, try to turn it on, only to learn the power has been fully drained. I'm guessing maybe the nook goes into standby vs. actually powered off or turns itself back on.

Anyone know how to make sure the nook is off and will stay off?

I noticed this too and realized that you have to make very sure that you have selected the Power Off box. It lights up a little differently when you press it correctly. I also give a little check on if it has worked properly by pressing the Home Key (the N button). If it doesn't turn the screen on, then I know I have succeeded.
