Amazon App store unrooted NC

Does anyone know if you can install the Amazon app store on an unrooted Nook Color?

I shouldn't hurt to try. You would need to install the Android SDK on your computer, download the App Store application and then use 'adb install application_name.apk'. If it works, that would be a way to get around the lack of the Android Market. Information on using the SDK is at .

The only thing I am unsure of is whether it would actually write files to the Nook without rooting but if not, nothing should be damaged in the failed process.

Interesting wording on the thread title. Makes it sound like the app store unrooted your NC, lol.

Yes I rooted my nookcolor and I was not able to add the andriod market or google app. So I dl Amazon and it works PERFECT. I'm addicted to Angry Birds.
