How long do I charge my Samsung A5 when I just bought it?

How long to charge Samsung A5 when I just bought it

The shop keeper told me to charge it 3 hours which was kinda odd since normal phones would definitely charge pretty much more than that.
I went home and asked my brother (who used samsung S4 for a year) and he told me to charge it for 7-8hours
By my own thought, a new phone usually should be charged 7-8 hours and it is known by almost everybody.
So I need a little help here for those who are using A5. 3 hours of 7.5 hours?

I have the samsung galaxy 5s and i charge it for 21/2 hours then it fully charged

Charge it until it's fully charged plus 15 minutes. (How long that takes depends on the state of charge of the battery when you got it, and that varies from battery to battery. Pull 10 new phones of the same model off the shelf, and you'll probably find 10 different charge levels.)
