I had the exact same idea. Anonymous location-based chat. Maybe we'll be competing someday.

Anyway here's my feedback:
1) Judging from the animation, It looks like switching between Locations and Conversations launches new activity?
- as a result, if you go back and forth Locations & Conversations enough, your back stack becomes so thick that you'll need to hit the back button many many times to exit the app
- you might want to consider tabhost with fragments
2) It bothers me that it uses my location without explicitly asking me at least for once in the app.

chakdev has two very good concerns, especially the stacking of activities. My biggest question is how to use it? I mean I understand the idea and what I can use it for, but are the conversations thread based per local area, is there one big global thread? I see now two listings of: unknown location (far far away and my location) and somewhere in Tel Aviv. Can I start a thread or am I always having those two choices?
