Re: Just rooted bionic, few questions
First thing I would do is download an app called Root Check - this will verify that you have root.
Then, in a file explorer (I recommend root explorer), find the mount_sh3 file under /system/bin, open, verify you see 3 lines at the bottom (you'll see a comment before the modifications).
Close that file, make sure you didn't modify it in any way, and reboot, and double-check with root check.
Then, the skies the limit. As you said, install Titanium and freeze bloat. There are a ton of apps that can only be run with root. If you're feeling adventurous, install a custom ROM. before you do that, read up, and ask a ton of questions. My Incredible is no longer incredible... Hellooooooo Bionic! - 01-04-2012, 10:26 AM

Re: Just rooted bionic, few questions
Thank you very much, bionic is now forever rooted!!!
I got on youtube and found the three lines I had to type in.
Now I am guessing that any bloat that can be removed can also be frozen with tb? What are a few apps that you would recommend for a music player, vid player, etc? - 01-04-2012, 10:43 AM #4
Re: Just rooted bionic, few questions
It is better to freeze than to remove, just in case you need to bring it back. Much easier to batch unfreeze. If an OTA (over the air) update shows up, you would need to bring all your apps back before the system will allow you to install it.
As for apps, I use doubletwist for music, videos, etc....check the forums here and also rootzwiki.com is a good one (some stuff will be over your head but there's a section on apps, etc)... just browse around, ask around, there are some great folks that will pop in and help you out.My Incredible is no longer incredible... Titanium backup pro allows you to freeze.
