Power Bank auto off advice

So I'm looking to buy a mobile charger pack and after reading the reviews I think I have it narrowed down to the EasyAcc and Xiaomi 10000 models.

They're both highly rated, pocket-sized, have passthrough, and seem good value at £15-20.

I prefer the Xiaomi design, but the main difference in features seems to be around auto-off (they both have auto-on). This is important to me as I am planning on charging my phone through the power pack overnight.

EasyAcc state that it has overcharge protection and overdischarge protection as well as explicitly listing auto-off. Xiaomi also state that it has overcharge protection and overdischarge protection, but the user manual says "After your device is fully charged, disconnect the cable to avoid any discharge". Why would this be required if it has overdischarge protection?

So what is the practical difference between the two?

I think I can help answer you since I have the Xiaomi 10400 mah powerbank.
The Xiaomi will not auto-off, but it will stop charging itself even when you leave it overnight. I have a usb voltmeter, and once it is fully charged, the voltmeter shows 0.00Amp current draw. The four leds will turn on, but not blinking to tell you that it's fully charged.
The overdischarge protection is not what you think it is. It is just a protection to avoid the battery inside from getting discharged lower than 2.8 - 2.9v even when your phone is still trying to charge from it. The protection kicks in once the battery voltage inside reaches 2.8-2.9v and shut itself down to avoid damage to the battery.
