You could buy a netbook for cheaper and have more features. I really like the idea of it; but, I'm not spending that much money. The thing should be worth $150.
I would even pay Google $50 for an official Chrome OS Build to dual boot on my PC.
I just don't get where these prices come from. That's an apple move. The all new Safari netbook. Nothing but web. Only $1,599.99. It's made of crystal. So when you drop it... you have a million safaribooks. OS X Starbucks.
Sure a 400.00 dollar netbook can do everything that a chromebook can do and more, but the more part will be so crappy you won't want to do it. It's just about having better performance and hardware for the money. If Asus took their zenbook chassis, put an i3, 4 gigs of ram, and a 16 gig msata and a decent screen on it I would gladly pay up to 500 dollars for it. And I think that's the direction they're going in. It's about value more than pricing.
