I just got an acer C720P chromebook. I attempted to download the google play app but it is not compatible with the device. Is there anyway I can download movies onto the device to be watched offline?

How are you trying to download or watch it? If you're using the Google Play Movies app, many shows and movies can be pinned for offline viewing. Those that aren't are typically unavailable because of licensing restrictions, and there are no legal ways to circumvent that - however that restriction is pretty rare to come across.

Welcome to Android Central! At this time, I don't think there's any way you can download a video from Google Play Movies to your Chromebook for oflline viewing, the way you can on an Android device. Hopefully this is a feature they'll introduce in the near future.

Thanks, Darth! I was trying to do it on the Google Play Movies website--didn't realize that the Chrome app is the one that allows you to download for offline viewing!
