Just make sure you have the pre-use requirements met, download the version appropriate for your OS, run the program and click Root. It's that simple!
Important Announcement!
As some of you may have noticed, the Mac OS X and Windows versions of Gingersnap Root Utility is now under the Team Androphiles brand. We are working hard to bring the Linux version of Gingersnap up to par with the Mac version, as well as adding appropriate Team Androphiles branding.
Recently I have noticed that Gingersnap is being shared through websites other than Android Central and Androphiles.com that have not been attributed according to the software license governing this software. Please be aware that distributions of Gingersnap Root Utility that do not abide by the software license may contain malware and should not be trusted.

Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
I downloaded the program onto my Mac Version 10.6.8 but when I click root, it isn't reading my device. Nothing shows up under the "List of Devices". Any help?
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
So I see all the disclaimers and files along with the prerequisites, but no directions. Huh?
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
Seems easy enough!! Gonna give it a try!!

Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
will this work with android 2.2.2
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
so can you possibly give me a step by step instruction on how to do this. i downloaded everything and i am not even sure if the gingersnap can see my device but i clicked root and its been stuck on "extracting exploit" for about an hour and a half.
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
It seems like it is taking an aweful long time to execute the exploit. In general how long does that take?
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
i was run gingersnap but not complete . i dont know y "Executing exploit .could take a while" that message comes more time but not complete.
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
I am also having trouble with the "Executing exploit" can some one please post on any fixes to this problem if they ever are discovered.
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
I'm having virus detection issues on the ginger root file... when I download the zip file, my anti virus deletes it immediately. Should I be worried about disabling it to allow the file? Nevermind, my newest problem is the vague instructions here. I've turned on USB debugging and downloaded all that's required and rebooted my phone. I opened up gingersnap and clicked root and it says it's successful and that my device is rebooting but nothing happens. And my device is not rooted still. :(
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
I am also having an issue with the "Executing exploit, this could take awhile" part, it has been stuck on this for about 2 hours now..
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
hmmm, my anti-virus system is saying it's a keylogger?
Re: Gingersnap Root Utility (one-click ROOT!!!) Multi-Platform
Root access is done through an exploit. Its basically similar to injecting a virus into your phone. This method finds vunerabilty then injects the files needed to gain root. So yes your antivirus will see it as a threat but its perfectly safe.
