Samsung smart swtich w/ cyanogenmod?

Hi I really want to be able to use cyanogenmod on my samsung s5, I am a complete noob to all of this stuff and I backed up my device with smart switch, a tool by samsung enableing cross platform data backup/ restoration. I cant however get it to work with my s5 as it says unsupported with the new mod, how can i retreive the backup data so that i can get contacts and texts back? Thank you.

Hi there, not sure how I missed this for so long. Sorry about that.

The short answer is that there is no way to restore that data. When you flash CM to a device, it ceases to be stock, and to be recognized as stock. Sammy tools will not see the device as a Samsung. Are your contacts not backed up to your google account?
