Why is my phone's display only showing black and shades of reds?

I woke up this morning and checked the time and my lock screen was all shades of death red and anything that was too dark to be changed red was solid black. I unlocked my phone and everything was still in shades of red on my home screen. I pulled down my notification bar, it was still red, opened facebook and read an article, still red. I took a screen shot and then restarted my phone and everything was back to normal, even the screen shot was normal colors. I just want to know why my phone did it, if anyone else has had this problem, and if my phone has some kind of virus. It looked like a horror movie.

I have a galaxy note 4 if that makes a difference.
