Rumor authorized Verizon retailors to get bionic 08/12

I just spoke with a very good friend of mine who is over 8 Verizon retail store not corp stores. I asked him about the bionic release to them. He said his sheet says 08/12. If that is true then that would support the 08/04 release to corp stores because retailors usually get it two weeks later. how true this is I don't know. He is calling me back about something else and i am going to try and get more solid information from him. If i get anything i will update.

"2 weeks later" if taken as a rule would actually support the July 28th date...

Hmm well that's definiitely good news! See if you can find anything out about specs and preorders too?

Hmm droid 3 came out on the 7th and wirefly had it available on the 14th. Aren't they an authorized retailer?

Wouldn't it be the 11 since verizon releases phones on Thursdays? See if you can get some pics or something.

See, THIS is the kind of thing I was trying to clarify in another post when someone made a reference to Aug 4th being the release date for "3rd party" sales...... but instead I was essentially called an ***** because I was asking for clarification that if 3rd party would be 8/4, then wouldn't the stores get it the week prior (7/28) with online orders starting week prior to that (7/21). This sounds exactly like 3rd party retailers (i.e. those places with "Verizon Wireless" signs that have "Authorized Premium Retailer" below that generally). Makes sense that they would get it a week after actual VZW stores. But the original speculation around that leaked screen shot was that it was from a Sam's Club (i.e. 3rd party) so if that's showing an 8/4 date, guess maybe that was from a VZW corp store then?!?!? We'll probably never know......

If online orders were starting this week, we would definitely have heard something by now. My biggest hope for an August 4th launch is the fact that Verizon has the Droid Bionic signup page up and has had it up for over a week. Would they really have a signup page up in July for a device coming in September?

My contact from Verizon said almost the same thing: This is some of the Message he sent me:

Aug 4th is a DFill date and then the following Thursday Aug 11th will be the release date. Ill let you know once we start getting our marketing items.

Not really the Droid 3 preorder was all guesses until it showed up on the site.

This is true. I don't know, I guess we would have heard something by now, since the Bionic is so highly anticipated. Hey, I'm hope it's wrong and orders start this week! lol

Well the best buy rep said the 28 for preorders awhile ago so lets hope he was right.

The good news is we have just a little more than a week to find out if he was right. I am holding my breath for July 28th Pre-orders. So as I can only hold my breath for about 2 minutes I guess this is my last post. Please someone buy me a Bionic and bring it to my grave sight... it has been fun.
