Motorola reps are telling VZW folks that they should expect the device in “early September.

I understand what you guys are saying but you cant reveal sources in a position like that or guess what, you loose your sources... So all you can go by is if you believe them or not. I haven't seen anything from Droid-Life that has made me think they are just randomly making stuff up. They hear something that they believe holds weight and want to share that with us. I for one appreciate that. If you want them to wait to announce something until its public knowledge we wouldn't need people like them. We would get the same public announcement that they would be getting.

Not sure if I am a fan of the lip or not. However, I think it is very exaggerated in that photo because of the way that the flash highlighted it. May not be nearly that bad in real life...

I thought the same thing, but if you're holding it landscape and didn't have that lip, wouldn't your thumb accidentally be hitting those buttons all the time?

If that lips there they might as well suprise us and put a slider keyboard underneath the sreen like the droids 1,2 and 3! Now that would make it the ultimate phone cuz seeing how big it is iit could fit a pretty large keyboard

Oh well. I'm officially giving up on August 4th. Looks like I have two options with my Costco 90-days: Sell my Charge and buy the Bionic outright or hope the GSII comes out before the 23rd and is 4G and buy that. The latter is definitely the optimal situation.

If you notice pretty much ever Android phone has space below the capacitive buttons. It just isn't as noticeable because other phones aren't so pronounced. My Thunderbolt has a "lip".

Seems like they have a bit more space, though, good point...except on the iPhone. It doesn't have capacitive buttons.

iPhone has a decent amount of room on the bottom for home screen and top for speaker.

It isn't the looks that I'm worried about with the lip. It's the functionality.

My HTC Incredible is 100% flat and I can flick off the sides without my fingers getting caught/gummed up in the lip.

The lip will be a large hindrance to my touch screen scrolling - that is why I never purchased a case because it adds that lip.

Are you sure that lip is raised above the screen? Otherwise I don't see how it effects scrolling at all.

Are you referring to the slightly raised edges around the screen? I never heard that being to referred to as a lip, just the bottom of the phone.

billion dollar company cant find a way to make a phone without a lip lol
either way still have to get this phone when it comes out b/c cant deal with no notification light in the gs2.
