Default Why Bionic over Photon, in for a treat?

Hey guys, new the forums but been a reader for quite some time.

Im just curious..... they say the Photon for sprint is exactly like the Bionic with minor cosmetic differences. But why all the hype for the Bionic, and Photon nearly ignored. Why would sprint get the exact phone released before verizon?

Are we all in for a big surprise with the top secret Bionic?
    I hope so....

    Thoughts?

Bionic is on Verizon's 4G and the Photon is on Sprint?

Because they made a huge deal about it when it was originally announced early this year, and because it's on Verizon not Sprint.

Isn't the Photon rocking a Tegra2 processor while the Bionic has OMAP 4430?

Photon is up for preorders to Sprint premier customers. And the Bionic is up ... for more launch date rumors.

Oh. Also, the Photon looks like a stop sign. That's the real answer.

The Photon has 1GB of RAM. No clue on the RAM speed. Yeah it also has a 1ghz dual Core Tegra 2.

From what I know about the suspected specs for the Bionic, these really will not be the same phones on different carriers. The Photon is being marketed as a business friendly phone, with world phone capabilities and increased enterprise security. I highly doubt the Bionic will be released with these features. The Bionic will likely have more domestic mass market appeal, with stronger multimedia capabilities (like 1080p video capture for example).

Other than that, yeah the final difference is LTE vs. WiMax. I think everyone here knows how much better Verizon's 4G network is vs. the current competition. The Photon is still a really nice option for Sprint customers though.

To me other than minor things you have 2 Major factors that play into the hype of Bionic vs. the Photon.

1.) VZW Network and 4GLTE vs. Sprint's Network and the *coughs* 4G Wimax.
2.) VZW currently has Garbage phones to offer, the Bionic is our or was supposed to be our 1st REAL beast of a phone. Sprint Already has a pretty amazing phone Spec wise the EVO 3D.

It's all about the network. If you have the greatest phone ever made, it still sucks if you frequently can't make calls or get data. If you live in an area that has great Sprint service AND you never travel (including weekend excursions to wherever, that might only be 30 miles away, trips to grandma's house, go see your best friend on the other side of town, or travel for work), then get a Sprint phone. To sum it up...take a look at the data maps from the carriers.

That sums it up for me. Verizon has very good coverage in my area. On the list to get 4g lte this year. In my area Sprint & At&t doesn't even come close. Otherwise I would consider switching.

Probably because all of the forum goers purchased the HTC Evo 3D and now there aren't enough people to make noise for the Photon.

The Bionic is the first Dual Core LTE phone which is why it is so big.

Photon is just another phone on Sprint.
