How to change Vibration count?

This seems like it should be an easy setting to find but I can't find it.

It seems that when the phone is set for vibrate, the default setting is for the phone to vibrate twice for each notification. Is there any way I can set this to only vibrate once?

As far as I know you can change this if you have custom apps. For example GoSMS and Handcent allow you to modify your incoming notifications for text messages. I have mine set to two shorter than normal and one longer than normal vibe for my texts, I use the two regular vibes for all other alerts as I have custom ringtones for other alerts.
