Have you had a Black Screen of Death with your Bionic?
The purpose of this survey is to try to determine the number of people that are having this issue with their Bionic. Only four options:
Yes - STD battery
Yes - Extended Battery
No
I don't know what BSOD is??
Please only unrooted handsets as rooting may wel add a complication that is unforeseen.
Thanks,

Re: Have you had a Black Screen of Death with your Bionic?
Just happened a little while ago with the extended battery. Actually I didn't have issues with the phone until I got the extended battery. Thought it was that but the data here suggests otherwise and likely just coincidental.

Re: Have you had a Black Screen of Death with your Bionic?
My first Bionic on 9/8 had about 4 BSOD and several random reboots over a 3 day period. Verizon gave me a new one on Monday, 9/12 and I had only one BSOD after 2-3 days and nothing since then. I have used the extended battery since day one. I hope I see no more. There is a good thread on the Moto Support Forum regarding this.

Re: Have you had a Black Screen of Death with your Bionic?
I actually had two phone that froze, but I can only vote once on this poll. FYI, BSOD is misleading. Both my phones did not die with a black screen. They froze when I was doing something on it. I would imagine freezing with an active screen is more common than freezing with an inactive one. Anyways, this is great info. Was beginning to think I got really unlucky with my two phones, but it looks like these issues I am having are not uncommon.

Re: Have you had a Black Screen of Death with your Bionic?
It has only happened to me once. I've had it since the 9th and yesterday (25th) was the first and only time that it has happened. I am using the standard battery. After I pulled the battery and got the phone turned back on, I was unable to connect to data. I had to restart the phone again before the 3G connection would work.

Re: Have you had a Black Screen of Death with your Bionic?
Okay so sorry I know it says "unrooted only" but I have had it since release date and left it unrooted for a few days and then rooted it. It's been fine for weeks and now the last two days I have had the black screen occur, only when it was in standby mode and I went to use my phone and it wouldn't turn on. I didn't vote to follow the rules but I have a standard battery.
Is this a problem? should I unroot in case I need to return to verizon? - 09-28-2011, 06:28 PM #23

Re: Have you had a Black Screen of Death with your Bionic?
I figured just as much. I started power cycling my phone after lunch, and no more phone freezes so far. I also turn off my phone when I sleep.
If Samsung had released the Bionic, we would have a stable custom ROM by now. I guess the closest thing we have is an OTA update.
