bionic update eta?
hi,
does anyone know when mototola plans to update the bionic with that update supposidly due out november? - 10-31-2011, 10:29 AM #2
Re: bionic update eta?
It will probably be November. No one knows for sure but 893 has been running well for folks and the latest ota in test seems to have LTE improvements. If all goes well I would expect a push at some point. But right now this is all speculation.

Re: bionic update eta?
Running 893 and I can verify signal is stronger and data drop/switching antenna issue seems fixed, tho I rarely even had that problem before. Also have never had any other issues so I don't know what else you're experiencing but some other people running it say it improved their overall stability, so there you go. I can say the vanishing apps issue when they are in media area is Not fixed in my experience so I still have to make sure they stay out of there.
As for public release yes people are saying November but can't tell you for sure. Moto needs to finish tests then VZ takes a turn. - 10-31-2011, 12:04 PM #6

Re: bionic update eta?
I've noticed some improvements, but not the level one would expect with an update. So, I'm NOT sure I'm really seeing better things or imagining it. The update will not remain a secret once it is realeased.

Re: bionic update eta?
If you haven't had any problems in 2 weeks until last night and you're otherwise happy with it, then I wouldn't return it. What did tech support do for you? How's it working now? Do you know that it was just your phone, or maybe the network in your area was just in a funk for a bit?

Motorola is once again changing a release date for something? I am shocked!

Re: bionic update eta?
Hey guys. My Bionic is rooted with bloat frozen. If i use the leaked 893 for now, when the official OTA hits can i still receive it?
What I would do is unfreeze my bloat and unroot my phone, get the update, and then re-root. Can I do this after using the leaked 893? or no? - 11-01-2011, 09:41 PM #21
Re: bionic update eta?
How do I download and install it to my phone? I'm speaking of the leaked .893. Where do I find it? Step by step, please.

Re: bionic update eta?
I wrote it out for someone here: 2 Root or Not 2 Root? (Redux)
I caution you to read carefully and be sure you understand all of the process before you begin. If you aren't 100% comfortable then don't bother, just wait for the update to come. Whats out there now is not the *full* update and the changes it makes might not even be that noticeable to you. That being said, good luck

Re: bionic update eta?
I am already rooted through Pete. Now, how do I get .893 downloaded and installed?
