Update failed due to zumocast
So I'm trying to install the update. I've rolled back to stock and the update kept failing. I am now manually applying it and this is the error I get:
Verifying current system...
Assert failed: apply_patch_check("/preinstall/app/com.motorola.zumocast"."27.....(lotsof numbers)
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
status 7
installation aborted
Anybody have any ideas? I made sure zumocast was installed as a system app but nothing helps.gtalk: Sethjk - 12-14-2011, 12:38 AM #2

Re: Update failed due to zumocast
It's from using safestrap. From Hashcode's blog, "This bootstrap works by putting .zip files on your /preinstall partition." I didn't know it was the issue till after I had fixed it. I just used RSD to flash back to stock and accept the update. I wish I had read it sooner cause I re-installed safestrap and I'm sure wiped my preinstall partition again, so I guess I'll have go through this again on the next update.

Re: Update failed due to zumocast
I ended up working with somebody from Rootwiki forum- he sent me his entire apps folder and then I let the auto update apply- that worked. Trying to run the update manually still failed.
