I'm SHOCKED that the Atrix is getting an update to ICS much earlier than the Bionic and RAZR, we can thank Verizon for this.

Verizon seems to have this notion that unlocked bootloaders cripple their network and expose security flaws.. I guess that makes sense because the Droid 1, Xoom and all the HTC and Samsung phones are crippling their network and exposing flaws every day..

Anyone else agree?

It may not get it first. I think they didn't release any info on the Verizon phones... that is why they all still stay they are in phase 1. I am sure they are a lot further along in the process than that.

Yes, we actually do not know that the Atrix is getting an update first. We know that a Q3 update is promised, but we still have no promised date for the Bionic, Razr and D4. They could end up being in the same timeframe.

I think there logic is, the sooner the update is released, the sooner everyone starts complaining about how crappy it is.

If you really want ICS.....then get it. There are at least 4 ICS custom ROMs right now, that are stable and could easily be a daily drivers.

I'm currently using ICS4Bionic and loving it, could care less when Verizon releases their motoblur version of ICS.

We won't really know until Motorola actually releases an ICS ROM for a device, but it should have the ICS continuous voice dictation, it will definitely allow apps that require ICS (the new GMail app, the new Google Chrome beta, plus there may be apps for Honeycomb that would also run.) ICS also should bring better support for multi-core processors.
